Promat-Promaseal® FyreStrip is a highly compressible, flexible fire-resistant expansion strip seal designed to accommodate movement joints in the structure of a building. It is composed of layers of Promaseal® Grafitex intumescent material bonded to a special foam, offering up to 240 minutes of fire resistance for movement joint seals within concrete/masonry compartment floors and walls.

Key Features:

• Suitable for use in a variety of configurations, including floors and walls with a fire resistance level equal or greater than 240 minutes.
• Flexibility allows for adaptation to different gap widths and orientations.
• Tested up to 240 minutes of fire resistance in accordance with BS 476: Part 20: 1987 and AS 1530: Part 4: 2014.
• Easy installation with the ability to be compressed and inserted into the required gap, ensuring the Grafitex sits parallel to the direction of movement.
• Available in 1000mm lengths, with the option to be cut to suit specific lengths.
• Non-loadbearing, with a warning sign advised to be placed near barriers to identify its characteristics.

Installation Tips:

• Ensure the thickness of FyreStrip matches the expected minimum or maximum width of the gap during the building element's lifetime.
• In cold conditions, store the strip in a warm atmosphere prior to installation to improve compressibility.
• If a smoke or water seal is required, apply a suitable sealant according to the manufacturer's instructions.
• For trafficked areas, fix a suitable plate over the joint to allow for movement while protecting the seal.

Applications:

• Joints between old and new constructions.
• Joints in floor slabs used for vehicles requiring high flexibility.
• Gaps between floor slabs and fascia panels.
• Top of hollow block and cavity walls, with sealing required for a minimum of one course or capping on top.
